As avid adventurers and highway travelers we, the developers of SCARAB INDUSTRIES, wanted more flexibility for camping and traveling. We were also looking for style and conveniences that were not offered by other manufacturers.
Tent trailers that were sizeable enough to accommodate a couple were just too heavy, too bulky and didn't have any style. What was available required some set-up time that can sometimes be inconvenient. The end result of these choices were functional but not representative of the ultimate freedom that we were in search of.
Necessity being the mother of invention, we put our creative ideas to work in metal, composites, a little advanced mechanical technology and knowledge of ultralight aircraft. And ultimately, Scarab was born as a very low weight, low drag, low center of gravity, low profile feature packed tent trailer.
Now our travels combine all the conveniences we could ask for. An ultralight towable recreational vehicle that we can pull behind our cruising motorcycle or attach to the back of virtually any sub-compact car with little indication of anything being in tow.
The independent air shock suspension, the extremely low weight and the finely tuned center of gravity make the Scarab a pleasure to take along. The storage compartments provide plentiful capacity for sleeping bags, fishing gear, cook stoves and other conveniences. The front storage compartment is automatically opened or closed securely with a touch of your four channel key fob. Your tent automatically opens and closes in the same manner. Within 20 seconds, the wings open and the tent inflates, ready to shelter you from the elements. If you've ever been out on the plains on a late afternoon, or in big sky country you know the value of finding quick shelter.
